Go Ho Ho GAP Commercial

My friend was telling me about the new GAP commercial today. They do a little cheer that goes like this:

"Two, Four, Six, Eight, now’s the time to liberate. Go Christmas, Go Hanukkah, Go Kwanza, Go Solstice. Go classic tree, go plastic tree, go plant a tree, go add a tree,You 86 the rules, you do what feels just right.Happy do whatever you wanukkah, and to all a cheery night.
Go Christmas, Go Hanukkah, go whatever holiday you wanukkah. "

The American Family Assn has declared a 2 month boycott on the GAP as a result of this commercial. I don't know if that is the answer.

Jesus promised that if people hate Him, the master, then people will hate us, his servants. We should not be surprised if people disagree with our beliefs or are ugly towards Christianity. Of course, we want them to believe in Jesus since the Bible says that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, but getting upset because a commercial doesn't say Merry Christmas doesn't make people want to know Christ.

I went to a showing of Collision last week, a documentary that asks the question "Is Christianity Good for the World?" After the documentary, the floor was opened up for discussion to the mixed audience of Christians and Atheists. The main message that I kept hearing from the Atheists was that Christians are hypocrites.

Yes, we are all hypocrites to some degree because as long as we live on this side of eternity we are going to fall short. However, if we were more committed to obey Christ's commandments out of love and showing love towards our neighbor, maybe more people would want to be Christians. As I write this I am definitely pointing my finger at myself, too.

Christ said that they would know we are Christians by our love. We must make love our priority. Christ said that love for God and love for people are the first and second greatest commandments. Oh, Lord, please make us more loving.
