O Ancient of Days

God has many names that describe who He is. One of my favorites is the Ancient of Days. This name reminds that He always was and will always be. It reminds me that He is Creator and all powerful. It humbles me as I remember who I am in contrast to the Holy One. Take a glance at this passage from Daniel 7 where He is referred to as the Ancient of Days.

"Thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated and the books were opened. "

What a picture! God is so awesome. This passage is a wonderful reminder to us when we get caught up in life here on Earth. It is great to remember that God is seated on His throne and that He is always in control.
